NASI GORENG

Here’s introducing our five star recipe of Nasi Goreng with Chicken Satay and Prawn Crackers, to satisfy every craving. Literally meaning fried rice in Indonesian, this dish is something that all travelers enjoy and relish. You can bring it home to your kitchen this evening. Made with a flavour that’s hard to resist and garnished with an egg to enhance taste, Nasi Goreng is usually enjoyed with Chicken Satay and prawn crackers. We give you the whole low down here. Cook this once and this is going to end up on your weekly menu at home.

SERVES 4

INGREDIENTS

For the Nasi Goreng:

180 gms rice
15 gms spring onions
10 gms garlic, chopped
30 gms chicken, diced
30 gms shrimp
5 gms sugar
15 gms oyster sauce
15 gms sweet soy ABC sauce
15 gms sambal
30 gms chicken satay
20 gms prawn cracker
2 eggs
Salt as per taste

LETS COOK IT UP!

First, cook the rice. Set aside.

Take a pan, and add a little cooking oil. Once heated, sauté diced chicken and cleaned and deveined shrimp until cooked through. Then, add the finely chopped garlic and sauté until golden brown.

Add beaten eggs and cook. Mix the cooked rice and add the salt, oyster sauce, sugar, sweet soy sauce and sambal to the pan. Cover and simmer for 5 mins.

The next step is to grill the chicken satay until cooked. Then fry the prawn crackers in hot oil. Now, fry an egg in a separate pan.

Put the cooked Nassi Goreng in a plate and garnish with a fried egg. Place the chicken satay on oneside and the prawn crackers on the other. Serve hot.
